Pieces of Beauty is an at-risk youth center. I’ve designed the building out of puzzle pieces to represent trauma we’ve buried from the past and joys we experience throughout life. As humans we look for acceptance, identity, purpose, love, and meaning from life, and during this process we endure life’s tragedies. We tumble throughout life searching for missing pieces of ourselves and learn how to arrange each piece to make the best version of you. I will only be showcasing one room, which I believe to be the most important. This room is called “Mirror Monday.” Most people are scared to truly look at their reflection often because they can’t deal with who they really are. It’s an exercise to move deep rooted issues and negative outlook of self.
