Being able to express myself through mediums of art has enabled me to heal from various traumas I have endured in my lifetime. Also, the different art projects I have created, some of them, have given me goals and hope for the future. For example, the house in the shape of a clam shell has given me hope for the future and a goal of mine is to make each amazing child of mine a house based on this piece of art. Another goal I have is to make anyone looking at my art have a happy heart and to feel good inside. I greatly appreciate the Expressive Arts program for helping me heal from my traumas and for giving me hope for the future 🙂 xo Also, the Expressive Arts program is my “happy place” in prison–a place where I can create art, heal from trauma, have a happy heart and learn from the amazing women whom run the program–-Thank You! 🙂

Clamshell House, 2024
Architecture description:
The beach, for my children and I, is a place of relaxation, peace, love and joy! I built a house on the beach in the shape of a clam shell for my two amazing children!!
The building is the shape of a clam shell – half open. The front of the building will be glass so that the beautiful ocean view will be seen from every (room) area in the front of the clam shell. The outside of the building will be painted a pearly white. The living room, dining area and kitchen area will be in the front of the clamshell and will NOT have any walls so that the “openness” of the beach and ocean can be felt in every area of the front of the clam shell. The goal is with the glass front while in the living room, dining area and kitchen one will actually feel like they are on the beach! The bedrooms and bathrooms will be at the back of the clam shell and will not have access to the view.
